THE BLACKLIST MAGAZINE’S first ever LIMITED EDITION ZINE in collaboration with CONVERSE LDN.
—
To mark the end of the year, we're releasing a limited-edition zine which will look back at black cultural moments that have taken place in the UK over the last 12 months. We want to reflect on this year as it’s challenged us all differently, and appreciate the topics that matter to our community even once they’ve stopped trending.

Together with the team at Converse London we are highlighting and celebrating two progressive All Stars that have been sparking progress in London during 2020, Tyesha Camacho and JLavaly.
When I moved home I had to adapt to the new normal. The highlight of my year was the digital support that was shown to creative graduates.”
- TYESHA CAMACHO
In August Converse supported fashion design student Tyesha as she brought her collection ‘REDEFINE’ to life with the help of Fon And Fa (@fa_fon_), whilst in November All Star and 2020 Change graduate Josh (@artist_jlavaly) work with them to build and design a home studio, helping him share his gift and story to the world.
“My biggest highlight of this year was building and designing my home studio and also sharing my gift and story with people halfway across the world via the Converse All Star programme.”

As we look back together on what these All Stars have achieved throughout 2020 in our 2020 calendar zine, we want to open the discussion on creativity has been impacted this year and share the creative work we are proud of.
We made this zine to remind people of events that happened this year but also allow people to reflect and see what they have learnt. This year has been hard but also inspiring, the black community made a lot of noise, through protesting across the globe in the streets and online. Providing funding and building organisations to support the growth of each other. This year we introduced black pound day, a movement to help the growth of the black economy. We fought for justice and inequalities and most importantly we educated ourselves and others.
Being able to partner with Converse on this project has enabled us to complete our vision, highlight and educate people on the important cultural events of this year.
This year has been the start of a long journey for The Blacklist Magazine, many other communities and collectives. We hope we can continue to support this community through the work we do. Remember it is important to continue to share your passions, thoughts and feelings.
